Maxalt is a popular medicine that is known to effectively decrease the widening of the patient’s blood vessels. A treatment with this drug is able to returning the widening of the patient’s blood vessels to their regular, healthy size. A treatment with this medicine is able to achieve its goal during a migraine, by effectively obstructing the release of several chemicals from the patient’s nerve endings (chemicals that are known to usually other migraine symptoms and even more pain).You should not take Maxalt if you are allergic to rizatriptan, if you have any history of heart disease, or if you have coronary heart disease, angina, blood circulation problems, lack of blood supply to the heart, uncontrolled high blood pressure, ischemic bowel disease, a history of a heart attack or stroke, or if your headache seems to be different from your usual migraine headaches.
Also tell your doctor if you are also taking an antidepressant such as citalopram (Celexa), duloxetine (Cymbalta), escitalopram (Lexapro), fluoxetine (Prozac, Sarafem, Symbyax), fluvoxamine (Luvox), paroxetine (Paxil, Pexeva), sertraline (Zoloft), trazodone (Desyrel, Oleptro), venlafaxine (Effexor), or vilazodone (Viibryd).
Maxalt Indications
Maxalt is a medicine that is primarily prescribed in order to relieve the migraine and its general symptoms. This drug should not be used to treat other types of severe headaches. Maxalt Warnings
Maxalt is not recommended in the case of patients who are suffering from any of these medical conditions:
heart disorders (this is known to include previous heart attacks, chest pain or angina)

Maxalt is also not suited if you have taken monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) inhibitors such as any of the following drugs within the last two weeks:
- moclobemide

Maxalt Intake Guidelines

propranolol
monoamine oxidase inhibitors (drugs that are regularly used in the treatment of depression), such as tranylcypromine, moclobemide, phenelzine, pargyline (only in Australia)
ergotamine
sumatriptan
methysergide
Ask your personal physician if it is safe to start taking other medicines while you are treated with this product.
